Sunday July 28, join us to eat delicious Persian food while Chef Hanif shares his stories of Iran's culinary traditions and the similarities of the Northern Iran and Northern Californian ecosystems. The world is small and we have more in common than we know! This is our chance to deepen our knowledge of the Middle East and the ways in which countries and peoples connect.

Chef Hanif's menu is entirely vegetarian other than a fish roe topping on one dish (that can be omitted) There is some dairy and eggs plus walnuts, all of which are integral to dishes so cannot be subbed. And the entire menu is gluten free by default!

 

Kahou Sekanjebin: Gem lettuce, dill and watercress with mint syrup.

Baghaali Kuku: Fava beans, chives and egg frittata with garlic labneh.

Zeitun Parvardeh: Green olives, walnuts, herbs and Pomegranate molasses on Turmeric bread.

Gilaas Polo: Cherries, basmati rice, roasted mushrooms and smoked goat Cheese.

Khiaar Dalar: Persian cucumbers, fermented herbs paste, sunflower seeds and Fish roe.

Motanjan: Apricot, walnuts, raisins and pomegranate molasses with sumac Roasted cauliflower.

Paloudeh talebi: Cantaloupe, Orange blossom water, mint and ice.

Komaaj: Rice flour, yogurt, eggs and saffron with orange blossom honey.

Chai Gol: Borage flower and Mallow flower brewed with quince.

Our partner organization for the evening is Jewish Family and Community Services. Serving 8,000 vulnerable Alameda and Contra Costa residents of all races, religions, and backgrounds, JFCS/East Bay helps children, parents, and teachers cope with the aftereffects of trauma and community violence; assists seniors to live independently at home; provides affordable, quality mental health counseling; helps refugees create homes for themselves in a new country; provides food and financial aid to people in crisis; and offers comprehensive support to aging Holocaust survivors.


Pricing: We're committed to being and building an inclusive community while also making the event sustainable for the chef. Everyone is welcome at our table and to help that happen we are offering sliding scale tickets prices which include dinner, drinks (alcoholic & non) & stimulating discussion.
$85 - A portion of your ticket subsidizes someone who can pay less.
$65 - If you earn a living wage this ticket helps the chefs do the same.
$45 - Join Us! We are grateful that you choose to spend your money on this event 

and are excited to have you at the table!

As our political discourse gets more polarized, it becomes ever more important to have places where we can have meaningful connection discovering inherent connections to one another.
